Donkeys being saved in Corfu

Both FCDR and CDR are completely non-government funded charities. Donations can be made to us through the Donate Now button via 'The Big Give' charity website which collect donations and reclaim the tax through GiftAid for us. You just need a credit/debit card and please don’t forget to tick the box to say you are a taxpayer.

JUDY QUINN 1955 - 2024
Although Judy is no longer with us, her spirit lives on within CDR and the board of trustees have committed to continue running the sanctuary in her name. Donkeys will continue to live out their lives in the safe, calm and beautiful shelter in Doukades and FCDR will continue to support CDR from the UK.
Your continued support is very much appreciated. Thank you.

THANK YOU!! We always like to acknowledge donations made to FCDR and to thank people for their generosity. Sometimes it’s only a few pounds but to the donor those few pounds are all they can give and that makes their donation very special and as gratefully received as any other. A surprising number of donations are sent anonymously. They are just as welcome of course and they are appreciated as much but we are unable to thank those donors for their generosity. So to all the anonymous donors we say a huge and special THANK YOU. Your continued support is vital to the successful running of CDR and although we are unable to thank you all individually, please know that your support is valued enormously and we cannot thank you enough. |
With very best wishes from Sally, John, Suzanne - and of course the donkeys |

Veterinary Care: One of CDR’s biggest problems has been the lack of equine veterinary knowledge on the island. Judy researched ways to help the animals using homeopathic remedies due to the absence of conventional veterinary medicine. Although not a vet nor an expert in medicine, she came up with her own mix which brought many donkeys back from the brink of death enabling them to live on contentedly for many more years. Judy also advised other donkey charities in Greece about CDR’s methods.
Veterinary students from the UK, Eire, the USA and Canada undertook some training and internships at CDR and Judy was particularly proud that two Greek veterinary students learnt about donkey welfare and medical requirements at CDR. She felt that if she could encourage more Greek students to learn about donkeys, then donkeys in Greece would have more hope in the future.
